In response to over 150 dead bodies and 100,000 pounds of rubbish left on the icy slopes of Mount Everest, Namgyal Sherpa and Chakra Karki organized the Extreme Everest Expedition - an elite team of 20 Sherpa climbers.

The team ascended Everest with the express purpose of removing trash and recovering bodies from Everest’s Death Zone, a treacherous area above 8,000 meters. With Chakra coordinating the expedition, Namgyal and the climbers encountered a series of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. DEATH ZONE: Cleaning Mount Everest is the Nepali-language, English subtitled document of the cleanup effort.
